1. Nice, simple navigation. Categories look fairly custom - meaning not the same as everyone else has - which to me is a good thing. Didn't see even one listing in the wrong category.
   
   Not really a fan of the random premium listing concept - sure it gets changing content on every page, but it also can have very unrelated content within the categories. I was in the Arts area and saw listings for insurance, power meters and animal shelters. Seems like you are shooting yourself in the foot SEO-wise which is a shame with such a tightly run directory. Maybe set it up where the random listings are pulled from within the category tree being viewed and totally random on the home page and latest listings pages?

2. Well you can't get much simpler than this. The directory has no external advertising, no Google adsense hiding within the design, no annoying popups, just a simple category listing while providing additional exposure for featured listings.
   
   Featured or premium listings also appear to be able to list at the top level point of categories, a much sought after position. There is a free option but why bother when a premium listing is such great value. As with all good directories 9 Sites has a latest links page enabling search engines to pick up backlinks quickly. And it goes without saying that it is spam free. An exceptional directory.
